Bhavnagar is the historic Gohil Rajput princely-state capital, founded in 1724 by Bhavsinhji Gohil on the Gulf of Khambhat in Saurashtra. The city sits 50 km from Alang the world's largest ship-breaking yard, recycling roughly half of global shipping tonnage and 50 km from Palitana, whose Shatrunjaya Hill holds 863+ temples as one of Jainism's most sacred sites. Anchored by the Takhteshwar Shiva Temple, the 19th-century Nilambag Palace, the Velavadar Blackbuck National Park and a strong diamond-cutting industry and Jain trader community, the city is well connected; order before 8 PM for same-day delivery, or until midnight for next-day delivery.
